Obsession Is A Good Thing

What do you think of when you hear the word?

The dictionary defines obsessed as “an idea or thought that continually preoccupies or intrudes on a person’s mind.”

You’re obsessed with something when it dominates your thinking, when it’s constantly on your mind.

I don’t know about you, but many people consider obsession to be something negative. Something to be avoided. If you are obsessed with something, you need to step back, relax, and focus on something new.

But I disagree. [Read more…]

Break The Rules

Never be afraid to experiment.

You are your own boss. You set the rules.

Much of what we’re taught is moreso guidelines than anything else.

And let’s be real here – if you want change, then change things up. Do what everybody else is doing, and you’ll end up like everybody else.

Take it to the next level. Go above and beyond. Or do it different. It’s the only way you’ll be remembered.

Never be afraid to experiment.

What Starting An eCommerce Business Taught Me About Blogging

I have a confession to make.

Over the last 6 months, I have started another company. I’ve been working on it, building it up, and expanding it. And in that 6 months, it’s truly taken off and is quickly becoming something amazing.

And I’ve got to be honest, it has grown a lot quicker than I had ever expected it to.

Starting out with just a few thousand dollars, our main branch is projected to do around a million dollars in sales this year.

This does not even include our new venture – an entirely new brand we’re launching that is going to one day dominate the industry we’re working in.

Unfortunately I can’t talk too much about that right now due to agreements I have in place, however, I have been named CEO and I assure you that one day you’ll hear all about it.

Anyway, running this new business and launching this new brand has shifted my perspective about blogging, and has truly taught me a lot about this profession we all know and love. I’d like to share with you some of the lessons I’ve learned, which I believe can make us all better bloggers, marketers, and entrepreneurs. [Read more…]

You Wouldn’t Believe How Blogging Has Transformed My Life

You ever have those nights where you just can’t fall asleep because you can’t stop thinking?

This is what it’s like for me every single night. It’s both a blessing and a curse.

I’m sitting here listening to Bob Dylan and Beatles songs and I just can’t even fathom how unbelievable my life is. The opportunities embracing entrepreneurship has brought me. I can’t believe what has happened.

You wouldn’t believe how emotional I am as I write this post. You can already tell it’s not one of my normal pieces. But really, I have no idea if I want to laugh, cry, or faint right now. I invite you to join me on this emotional roller coaster as I reflect on how starting my first blog all those years ago changed things beyond my wildest imagination.

2016: Goals, Plans, And Outlook

As 2015 comes to an end, it’s time to look forward towards the new year.

2015 was a huge year for me. I came out with 5 new products for Help Start My Site, and went through a lot in my personal world that has fundamentally changes how I have structured my life.

When we grow so drastically in a given year, it’s very hard to keep that pace up and continue accelerating into the future. While I doubt I will ever have another year as significant as 2015 for a very long time, that does not mean I can not continue to grow and make 2016 extremely impactful.

2016 is going to be a very interesting year for me, both within Help Start My Site and outside of it.

Without any further ado, here’s what I’m expecting in 2016. [Read more…]

2015 Year In Review: How Was Yours?

2015 isn’t yet over, but it’s getting pretty darn close.

Because I plan to talk about my 2016 goals as the first post of 2016 and I want to make sure there is some nice actionable information inbetween, I’ve decided to publish my own review of the 2015 year now, and invite you to share your story as well. [Read more…]

The Biggest Change To Help Start My Site Since Its Creation

2015 has been a year of massive growth for Help Start My Site and myself.

In March, I announced my plans to create and release 3 different courses: a course on blogging, a course on Kindle publishing, and a course on personal finance.

I made it happen.

In fact, I released two more courses on top of that, all within 6 months – a course on email marketing, and an unrelated course on lucid dreaming that I partnered with another business for.

It’s clear that this has been a year of growth. A year of expansion. A year of making things happen.

And now it’s time to do it again.

New Course: Achieve Financial Independence And Retire Early!

If you’ve visited the blog recently, you may have noticed that I haven’t been extremely active. I’ve been here just as much as always, but I’ve been slower to respond to comments, haven’t been as active on social networks, and haven’t visited other people’s blogs as much as I usually like to.

This is very strange of me, because usually those things are some of my top priorities. However, I have been extremely busy these past few weeks working on a brand new course. Achieve Financial Independence And Retire Early is finally out!  [Read more…]

Blogging For Money: Starting Your Very Own Web Business!

I’m excited to announce that I’ll be releasing my first video course this week, Blogging For Money: Starting Your Very Own Web Business!

This course is loosely based off of my first book on blogging for profit, which has since been pulled off the shelves as I wasn’t satisfied with its quality. Blogging For Money: Starting Your Very Own Web Business has improved upon the book, adding additional detail and covering more topics.

The course will cost $97 and contains ~2 hours of video content. The version that will be published on this site will contain a number of additional bonuses, which I am still developing.

An alternate version will be available on Udemy and other similar e-Learning websites.

The various sections and videos are as follows: [Read more…]

What To Expect From Me This Year – Courses, A Podcast, And More!

Before you stop and check your calendar, let me tell you – yes, I am publishing this post three months into the year. Yes, 2015 is already one quarter over. Yes, most other bloggers published these types of posts at the beginning of the year.

So why the heck am I just getting around to it now?

Well, these past few months I have been extremely busy building up the backend of my business. This means building and tweaking my email newsletter and autoresponder sequence to increase conversions. While I’ll still be continuing to do this (and probably always will) I’ve finished the bulk of it and now have much more time to dedicate towards other areas.

On top of that, I have recently finished my largest book yet – The Young Entrepreneur’s Guide to Business, Finance, and Life, which is selling well and has been loved by almost everybody who’s read it. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend reading this honest review of the book on Joy Healey’s website.

Finally, I’ve been automating a lot of tasks that previously required my prescense by utilizing tools such as HootSuite.

Many of you know that I am a workaholic and always like to fill time with more work. This is great news for everybody, because it means I can provide more to you by starting other projects. Now that I loosely know what my schedule will be like for this year, here’s what you can expect from me throughout the rest of 2015: [Read more…]
